Missed Scenery

Life is like a journey: when you gaze out the left window of the vehicle, you inevitably miss the scenery outside the right window. Though the view on the left is beautiful, you feel the view on the right must be even more beautiful—and thus lament your missed opportunity.

So you always wish to retrace your steps and see the scenery on the right. After arduous effort, you return to the starting point and deliberately sit on the right side to look out the window—only to find the scenery is nothing extraordinary. Perhaps, in a sudden moment of clarity, you realize: those scenes are no longer the same as before; time has changed, and so has the scenery...

In truth, life is a one-way journey—you will inevitably miss some scenery, and what’s missed can never be reclaimed. Yet human nature deceives us into believing the missed scenery must be more beautiful—even though it’s no different from what we’ve already seen.

People should learn to accept things as they come, and learn to cherish—to cherish the scenery right before their eyes and within their reach. That is the most beautiful scenery, because you have truly seen it!
