Meeting and Parting

I feel so blessed to have met you,
In the most beautiful season of your life,
And to have listened to the whispers of your heart.

How glad I am to have talked with you.
You were never one for many words,
Yet everything you said resonated deep within me.

Being with you makes me feel young again,
As if I could start my life all over—
Though I know that can never be...

In the end, we are like two comets brushing past one another,
drifting further apart with every passing moment,
Each continuing along our own orbit,
On a journey spanning eons.

But from now on,
I will often dream the same dream,
Where your innocent, beautiful figure still appears.

I do not expect us to meet again;
For beyond the initial surprise and joy,
We have both changed so much that the mood we once shared may be lost forever.

And yet, I selfishly hold onto one hope:
That in the season when the locust flowers bloom,
You might suddenly, casually recall the time we walked side by side...

Now that we part, I won't offer the usual well-wishes.
Instead, I'll pray to the sun, the moon, and all the stars,
That those eyes, brimming with happiness, may shine upon this world forever...
